Something is wrong with that listing. Etsy won't tell you what.
You know the one. Good product, decent photos, and month after month it just sits there — a handful of views, no sales, no explanation. So you tweak a tag, renew it, and hope.
Hope is not a diagnosis. The Listing Doctor examines every active listing in your shop, finds where each one loses buyers, shows you the evidence — and writes the fix.

What an undiagnosed listing quietly costs you
A listing that isn't working doesn't announce itself. It doesn't error. It just sits in your shop collecting 20 views a month while the searches it should be winning go to listings that did the unglamorous things right — and every month it stays undiagnosed is a month of those buyers it never meets.
The most common damage is also the most mundane. Etsy hands every listing 13 tag slots and a 140-character title — that's the entire vocabulary it can use to meet a buyer's search. Most struggling listings use a fraction of it:
One listing's 13 tag slots
Every tag is a search this listing is allowed to appear in. 5 empty slots are 5 searches it can never enter — not ranked low in them. Absent from them.
This isn't an edge case — it's the default state of a listing written in a hurry two years ago. And it never fixes itself: an invisible listing generates no signal that would ever prompt you to look at it. That's the trap. The listings that most need attention are precisely the ones that never ask for it.
The expensive part isn't the problem. It's guessing at it.
When a listing underperforms, most sellers reach for the same fix regardless of the disease: new tags. But “not selling” is three different problems wearing the same face, and each one lives at a different point of the buyer's journey:
“Not being found”
Problem area: Keywords & relevance
“Seen but not saved”
Problem area: Thumbnail, title & positioning
“Favourited — but selling?”
Problem area: Price, trust & offer
Rewrite the tags on a listing that buyers already see but don't save, and you've spent your evening polishing the one part that was working. Worse, you still believe you “tried everything” — while the real blockage sits untouched. A fix aimed at the wrong stage isn't just wasted. It buys the broken listing another six months of your patience.
First, the Doctor finds where each listing is stuck
Connect your Etsy shop and the Listing Doctor triages up to 50 active listings in one pass — worst first — using your own views, favourites, listing age and, if you track costs in Postivia, your margins. Every listing lands in one of six stages:
“Not being found”
Keywords & relevance
Barely any views for its age, or far below the rest of your shop. Nothing else about this listing matters until buyers can see it.
“Seen but not saved”
Thumbnail, title & positioning
Buyers open it, then leave without favouriting. New tags won't fix this one — the first impression is losing them.
“Favourited — but selling?”
Price, trust & offer
Strong save rate, real demand. Etsy doesn't share order counts, so the Doctor tells you honestly: check your Etsy Stats, then work on price and trust.
“Selling itself short”
Margin & ad spend
If you've entered your costs in Postivia, listings running on thin margins get flagged — traffic isn't the problem, profitability is.
“Too new to judge”
Give it time
Under a month old with little data. The Doctor says so instead of inventing a verdict from noise.
“No blockage found”
Keep going
Views and saves both healthy. You'll see which listings to leave alone — as valuable as knowing which to fix.
No diagnosis arrives bare. Each one comes with the evidence in plain English — views against listing age, saves against views, how the listing compares to the rest of your shop — and a confidence level, so you know when the data is conclusive and when it's early.
Then it checks the basics most listings fail
Alongside the triage, every listing gets four content checks — the mechanical fundamentals that decide whether a listing can be found at all:
All 13 tag slots used
Each unused tag is a search your listing can never enter. The Doctor counts your slots and names the shortfall.
Title uses its space
Etsy gives you 140 characters to match real searches. A 20-character title leaves most of them unmatched.
Description has substance
A thin description gives buyers nothing to trust and search nothing to work with.
Photos have alt text
Alt text describes your photos to search engines and to buyers using screen readers. Most sellers leave it blank on every photo.

What the numbers show
- 148 views in 6 months — about 25 a month.
- Most listings in this shop sit around 900 views; this one is at a fraction of that.
- 4 favourites so far.
Problem area: Keywords & relevance. Buyers aren't seeing this listing, so nothing downstream — photos, price, reviews — has had a chance to matter yet.
Content basics
- PassDescription has substance. 412 characters of real detail.
- Needs workAll 13 tag slots used. Only 8 of 13 tags in use — 5 free slots means missed searches.
- Needs workTitle uses its space. 20 of 140 characters used.

A doctor's note, not a score
For any listing that needs it, ask for an AI prescription: a short doctor's note explaining what's actually going on, followed by three to five specific actions — each targeted at the stage where this listing is stuck, and each with the reasoning spelled out.
Prescriptions cover the areas that actually move a listing — keywords, title, photos, description, pricing, trust, offer, margin and marketing — but only the ones relevant to its diagnosis. A listing nobody sees gets keyword and title work, not advice about pricing psychology it isn't ready for.
You'll notice what's missing: a gamified “listing score”. That's deliberate. A 68/100 tells you nothing about what to do on Tuesday. A stage, the evidence, and five concrete actions do.
Finally, it writes the fix — and pushes it to Etsy for you
Advice you still have to execute at 11pm is where most audits die. So for every failed check, the Doctor drafts the actual fix from your listing's own content: a full replacement title that leads with what buyers search, a complete set of 13 tags, a stronger description opening, and alt text for every photo missing it.

Approve the fixes you like, and Postivia pushes them to your Etsy listing directly — with a per-field status so you can see exactly what landed.
Guardrails, because it's your shop
The AI drafts; deterministic rules decide what survives. Every suggestion is checked before you ever see it:
- Never fewer tags than you already have — over-length suggestions are dropped, not truncated.
- Alt text you wrote yourself is never overwritten; only blank slots get filled.
- Your description is never replaced — the Doctor prepends a stronger opening above what you wrote.
- Suggestions identical to what you already have are rejected instead of shown as 'fixes'.
- Anything the guardrails reject is shown to you with the reason — not silently applied.
Diagnosed from real data — and only real data
Plenty of tools sell Etsy sellers “ranking keywords” and “search volume” numbers that Etsy simply doesn't publish. We won't. The Listing Doctor works from what your shop's connection actually provides — views, favourites, listing content and listing age — plus cost figures you've entered yourself.
When that data can't prove something, the diagnosis says so out loud: a well-favourited listing gets “check your order numbers in Etsy Stats”, not an invented conversion rate. You get fewer decimal places and more truth. We hold the keyword tool to the same standard.
The check-up is free. Forever.
The shop-wide triage and all four content checks — on up to 50 active listings, as often as you like — cost nothing on every plan. The free plan also includes 5 listing rewrites a month, so you can put the doctor's fixes to work before paying a penny; the Grow and Scale plans add the AI-written prescriptions and raise or remove the rewrite limit.
So the worst case of trying it is that you learn, for free, exactly which of your listings are stuck and where. The worst case of not trying it is the status quo: the same listings, invisible for the same reasons, for another year.
Connect your shop, open Listing Doctor, and the first triage runs on its own.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Etsy listing not getting views?
Almost always a visibility problem: the listing isn't matching the searches buyers actually type. The mechanical causes are unused tag slots (each of Etsy's 13 tags is a search you can appear in), a short title that wastes its 140 characters, and thin descriptions. The Listing Doctor checks all of these on every active listing and flags exactly what's missing — then drafts the fix.
My listing gets views but no sales. What's wrong?
That's a different diagnosis than low views — and it needs a different fix. If buyers see the listing but don't favourite it, the problem is usually the thumbnail, title or positioning. If they favourite it but it still isn't selling, look at price, trust signals and the offer itself. The Listing Doctor separates these stages using your views and favourites, so you fix the step that's actually broken instead of guessing.
Is the Listing Doctor's audit free?
Yes. The shop-wide check-up — funnel triage plus the content-basics checks on up to 50 active listings — is completely free and you can run it as often as you like. The free plan also includes 5 AI rewrites a month, so you can try the doctor's fixes on your own listings; the full AI-written prescriptions come with the Grow and Scale plans.
Does it use real data from my shop?
Yes — it reads your own listings through your connected Etsy shop: views, favourites, titles, tags, descriptions, photo alt text and listing age. It doesn't invent 'ranking keywords' or claim data Etsy doesn't provide; where the data can't prove something, the diagnosis says so and carries a confidence level.
Will the AI change my listings without asking?
No. Every fix is shown as a before/after that you tick to approve, and nothing touches Etsy until you press push. Guardrails also protect your work: the Doctor never leaves you with fewer tags than you had, never overwrites alt text you wrote yourself, and adds to your description's opening rather than replacing what you wrote.
Your listings can't tell you what's wrong
But your views, your favourites and your own content can — if something reads them properly. Five minutes from now you could know which listings are stuck, where, and what to change first.
